The KTM RC 390 has continued largely unchanged for some time – but look here…

Your favourite factory in Mattighofen has decided that the impending Euro5 update was a good time to switch things up, giving it’s mid-weight sports bike a proper seeing to.

From first appearances, it looks as if they’ve smoothed out some of that front-end pointiness found on the previous bike, bulked up the haunches and gave the RC 390 and all-round update.

The sub-400 cc KTM sportbike was spotted for the first time a while back and is now making the rounds, once again. Austria’s Motorrad Magazin shared a selection of new spy photos and surmised that it looks a bit more “civilized” than the outgoing model.

The revised version looks like it’s been defanged just a bit. We’ll reserve full judgment until we see a more production-ready model in whatever graphic scheme they choose to use.

But the facelift looks like it could be a step in the right direction to lure a few riders off the Japenese bangers. No news yet on power figures or any chassis updates, but we will be sure you post ’em up when more details emerge.
